HOW TO SEND US YOUR PHOTO
IMPORTANT!
Please read ALL of the following information
BEFORE you send us your picture.
There are two ways to submit a photo — by postal mail or by email. Details for each are below.
Details and Legal Stuff
By submitting a photograph you give us permission to post it on our web site and/or to publish it in the magazine and any future anthology, print or electronic, at our sole and exclusive discretion and without any compensation to you of any kind.
If the photo shows anyone who is NOT part of your immediate family (you, your spouse, your children), you MUST print out and complete our Model Release Form and send it in with your photograph.
If everyone in the photo IS part of your immediate family, no release is necessary.

Photographs showing people other than your immediate family may be submitted online but will not be used until the completed and signed release(s) have been received.
Photos published in the magazine or displayed online are chosen by the staff. We favor those with interesting people, especially kids, doing interesting things, but you never can tell what will catch our fancy. We cannot guarantee any photo will be chosen for publication or display.
Your photo should be clear and appropriately lit. It can be of you, your family, your homestead, or just about anything else that might be of interest to our readers.
You may submit no more than one photo per week.
Your photograph must be accompanied by the following information, either in the body of the email if you send it that way, or on a sheet of paper or index card if you mail it. (Please print or type)
- A detailed description of who and or what is in the photo and what any people are doing if it's not 100% obvious to someone who doesn't know the people and circumstances. Full names of eveyone (and ages of anyone under 21) and their relationship to you must be included.
- If chosen for the web site, part or all of the description may appear with the photo. Photos selected for the magazine generally include names and hometowns of the people or short descriptions of things.
- For verification purposes, you must include your full name, address, city, state, zip, and phone number. This information will NOT be used online and will NOT go on any mailing lists.
How To Mail Us A Photograph
Remember to include the paper or card with the required information.
If you want us to return your photo, you must enclose a self addressed envelope large enough to hold the photo bearing sufficient return postage. Photos without the return envelope and postage will eventually be trashed whether we use them or not. Keep in mind that mail sometimes gets lost and people sometimes make mistakes so do not send us the only copy of a treasured photograph. Have a copy made or have it scanned and submit it electronically. You send photos at your own risk. Backwoods Home Magazine will not be responsible for lost, misdirected or mishandled mail.

How To Email Your Picture
Type the required information in the body of the email.
If one or more releases are required, be sure to note in the body of the email that you have or will send them. ALSO, on the release(s), be sure to indicate the date the photo was submitted online and include your email address as that is how we will match them.
Attach the photo to the email. ONLY GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, and TIFF formats are acceptable. Others will be deleted without viewing.
File size may not exceed 500 kilobytes. Larger files are automatically deleted by the mail server.
